Broken and Fallen Trees in East Jakarta Evacuated

Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds that hit East Jakarta from Tuesday (1/27) afternoon and evening caused two trees to fall and another to break in different locations. Thanks to the alertness of joint personnel, the incident was quickly and thoroughly resolved without any casualties.

Head Section of Green Belt and Cemetery for City Parks and Forestry Sub-agency, Made Widhi Adnyana Surya Pratita said the evacuation process involved 18 personnel of Blue and Orange troops.

Four Broken and Fallen Trees Successfully Evacuated

"All fallen and splintered trees were immediately addressed upon receipt of reports. We had successfully resolved all of them by last night," he said, Wednesday (1/28).

He explained that two fallen trees of the kedondong type with a diameter of around 40 centimeters occurred on Jalan Sawo Kecik, Pulo Gebang Urban Village.

"The two trees fell on the roof of the official residence of the East Jakarta Military District Command (Kodim 0505) and on a power cable belonging to PT PLN. However, there were no fatalities or injuries in the incident," he explained.

For one splinter tree of the angsana type with a diameter of around 25 centimeters occurred on Jalan Dermaga Raya RT 07/10, Klender Urban Village.

"The tree fell on the greenway fence and partially blocked the roadway. The evacuation process at the location continued until 11:30 PM," he stated.
